Article 1 – Definitions
In these general terms and conditions, the following terms have the meanings stated below:
• Contractor: One to Walk, the provider of the dog walking service.
• Client: The owner of the dog who uses the services of One to Walk.
• Services: The walking of dogs at agreed times and days.
Article 2 – Applicability
These general terms and conditions apply to all agreements between the contractor and the client, unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing.
Article 3 – Appointments and Service Provision
➤ Our services are preferably offered on weekdays (Monday through Friday) between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Different times are possible by arrangement.
➤ Appointments regarding days, times, and special requests will be agreed upon in advance.
➤ It is preferable that the dog is socialized for individual walks.
➤ Participation in group walks, at the client’s request, is optional and will be arranged based on the dog’s character and behavior, and in consultation with the client.
Article 4 – Area of Operation
The operating area of One to Walk includes Alphen aan den Rijn and its neighboring villages. For walks to locations outside this area, such as the beach or forest, additional costs will be charged due to travel expenses. See Article 9 for details on these costs.
Article 5 – Client Responsibilities
➤ The dog must be fully vaccinated and free from contagious diseases.
➤ The dog should be protected against fleas and ticks, preferably by regular preventive treatments.
➤ The dog must wear a collar or harness with identification.
➤ The dog must be covered by third-party liability insurance (pet liability insurance).
➤ Any behavioral issues must be reported in advance.
➤ The client remains the legal owner of the dog at all times and is responsible for any damage caused by the dog.
Article 6 – Liability
➤ One to Walk will exercise the utmost care but is not liable for injuries, illnesses, or death of the dog, unless caused by intent or gross negligence.
➤ One to Walk is not liable for damage caused to third parties by the dog during the dog walking service.
Article 7 – Payment and Cancellation
➤ Payment must be made in advance or within 30 calendar days after the invoice date.
➤ Cancellation is free of charge up to 24 hours before the agreed service. Later cancellations may result in the full amount being charged.
➤ Force majeure may always apply.
Article 8 – Key Management
➤ If the client provides One to Walk with a key, it will be handled with utmost care and used solely for performing the agreed services.
➤ The key will be stored securely and anonymously and will not be shared with third parties.
➤ Upon termination of the cooperation, the key will be returned immediately and personally to the client.
Article 9 – Travel Costs
For walks to locations outside Alphen aan den Rijn, such as the beach or forest, a travel allowance will be charged. This fee amounts to €10.00 per 20 minutes of travel time and €0.55 per driven kilometer. When multiple persons participate in the walk, the kilometer costs will be fairly shared. The costs will always be communicated and agreed upon with the client in advance.
Article 10 – GPS Tracking
For the dog’s extra safety, a GPS tracker will always be provided by One to Walk. This device is attached to the dog’s collar or harness, allowing the dog’s location to be monitored during the walk.
Article 11 – Force Majeure
In case of force majeure (such as extreme weather conditions, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances), One to Walk reserves the right to reschedule or cancel the service.
Article 12 – Changes to Terms
One to Walk reserves the right to amend these general terms and conditions at any time. The most recent version is always available upon request. In case of changes, all clients will be informed in a timely manner about the updated terms, including a clear explanation of the changes. Amended terms will not take effect earlier than 14 days after the date of announcement, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Artikel 13 – Privacy
➤ One to Walk processes personal data of clients solely for the purpose of providing services, communication, safety, and administration.
➤ Data is collected through the intake form and is retained for a maximum of six months after the last point of contact, unless an extension has been explicitly agreed upon.
➤ One to Walk implements appropriate security measures to protect personal data. Only the owner of One to Walk has access to this data.
➤ Clients have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of their personal data.
➤ Photos of the dog may be taken during walks. These photos may be shared on the One to Walk website or social media only with the client's explicit consent. Without such consent, no photos will be published.

Article 14 – Applicable Law
This agreement is governed by Dutch law. In case of disputes, the parties will first attempt to resolve them amicably. If that is unsuccessful, disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
